I have to tell ya, that I am so excited about Daylight Saving Time. I look forward to this time every year. I start watching for the days to get longer; when there is a little more sunlight everyday. I am also excited that "they" have decided to extend Daylight Saving Time, so it comes very early this year. So I thought I would throw in some facts about Daylight Saving Time, ya know just FYI: Benjamin Franklin was the first to think of Daylight Savings Time.
Daylight Saving Time is NOT recognized in the United States in Arizona, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands. (To all of my family in Arizona, "How do you like it? I would think it would be hard to get used too.")
Daylight Saving Time is called "Summer Time" in other parts of the world.
Daylight Saving Time has been used in the United States only since World War I, and began as an effort to conserve fuel.
There are just a few quick facts, but there is a lot of history behind Daylight Saving Time. Check it out,and enjoy the extra day time!
